Coley Norman

Senior Vice President – Strategy

Briefly describe the path that brought you here.

I relocated to Nashville in 2008 to pursue a career in healthcare. My journey began at Healthways, partnering alongside employer and health plan clients to design and implement wellness programs across their populations. During my 10 years at Healthways, I was fortunate enough to lead account management and product teams, traveling across the US to build strategic partnerships, and ultimately improve the lives of patients through Well-Being solutions. I continued my healthcare career at Express Scripts via their utilization management division, to direct providers and patients to appropriate testing to ensure their safety and improve clinical outcomes.

Just like any career, I found myself in a valley amongst peaks, and I knew there was something missing. I searched within and beyond myself for guidance, and I was blessed to be connected with a company who courageously dedicates each day to positively impact the way healthcare should be delivered. RxGenomix’ story has just begun, and I am privileged to share in and help write the chapters to come.

What motivated you to get involved with RxGenomix?

The people and the mission they represent. Eager and hopeful, I was searching for a team that was not afraid to challenge the status quo of healthcare. My search ended when I walked through the RxGenomix’ doors. Our team recognizes that there is no ‘silver bullet’ to address the many challenges that patients face daily. We do however believe that pharmacogenomic testing offers a better path to well-being; a path that patients, providers, and payors will collectively recognize as a necessary step in the evolution of healthcare practice.

What is the one thing you most hope to accomplish with RxGenomix in the next five years?

My hope for RxGenomix is to be considered a trusted advisor on behalf of those whom with we partner and serve.

What’s the most surprising thing about you? Something we’d never guess.

My greatest passion is youth leadership through sport. I volunteer as a Head Basketball coach of a local middle school here in the Nashville area. I have been coaching for many years, and having the ability to provide a positive impact in a student’s life is something I do not take for granted. I was fortunate to have great coaches throughout my childhood, starting with my dad. My hope is to create that same positive experience for others.

What is the one thing you can’t live without?

My family. My day starts and ends with them. My wife and daughter occupy a place that no one else can touch, and they will always come first.

You have two weeks off. Where would you go?

The first week, I would take my wife to Hawaii. She has always wanted to go, and she has never failed to remind me:) The second week, I would take my dad fishing in the Outer Banks. Never have a I seen a man get so much pleasure and peace from the simplest of things.
